Jacksonville: A city where discovery never ends
Jacksonville, Florida, is a vast city with countless unique areas to explore.
From the stunning Jax Beaches along the Atlantic Ocean to its lush parks and green spaces that give the city a calm, welcoming vibe, Jacksonville offers a mix of urban excitement and natural beauty. You’ll find peaceful rural areas with farms and horses, as well as thriving commercial districts filled with entertainment, dining, and shopping. With so many distinct neighborhoods, there’s always something new to discover around every corner.
Culture
Jacksonville offers a fresh perspective on American culture. The city is home to several major military bases, including the historic Mayport Naval Station, a key U.S. Navy port since 1940. The city also hosts an incredible Blue Angels air show every 4th of July. Jacksonville is also a hub for education, with institutions like the University of North Florida and the renowned Mayo Clinic, a major landmark for those in the medical field.
Entertainment
Though Jacksonville is known for its size, its cultural and entertainment scene is thriving. If you’re into sports, TIAA Bank Field—home to the Jacksonville Jaguars—is a must-visit. The VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena hosts top artists, comedy legends like Kevin Hart, and major events throughout the year. And just a short drive away, St. Augustine offers even more entertainment options, from concerts to historical festivals.
Architecture
One of the city’s most striking features? The bridges! Jacksonville has seven breathtaking bridges, and I can’t get enough of them. Every time I cross one, I feel this rush of excitement. I’ve filmed them countless times, yet they never lose their magic. It’s one of those small things that make this city so special.
Foodie Adventures
And then there’s the food scene—seriously underrated! Jacksonville is full of incredible, diverse dining options, but many of the best spots are hidden gems. They’re not heavily advertised, so the best way to find them is through word-of-mouth, Google reviews, or now—thanks to E Weekly News!
