Discover a Delicious French Café in Playa del Carmen, MX

Today, I want to share a charming spot in a place that I always carry in my heart—Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya, Mexico, where I lived for seven amazing years. It’s a Parisian-style café located on the street leading to the ferry dock for Cozumel. The café’s central location makes it the perfect place to unwind before or after your adventures in Playa.

Why I Love Café Antoinette

  • Authentic French Experience: From the moment we stepped in, my family and I fell in love with this place. You can enjoy coffee and pastries crafted with the expertise of a true French bakery. At Café Antoinette, the products, the recipes, the décor—everything—says Bienvenue à Paris ("Welcome to Paris").

  • A Haven for Coffee Lovers: Finding great coffee while traveling can be a challenge, but this spot is a local favorite. Whether you're craving hot drinks, iced beverages, French bread, crepes, or pastries like éclairs and chocolate croissants, Café Antoinette has it all.

Personally, I love a cappuccino with a Swiss Chocolate Bread: Basically it's brioche dough filled with pastry cream and a scattering of chocolate chips and baked to golden perfection.

  • Early Morning Delight: They open at 7 AM, which is perfect if you want to start your day early and enjoy a European-style breakfast.

Pro Tips:

  • Since this location is small, I recommend visiting with just a few people (up to 4 is ideal) or grabbing something to go and enjoying it while exploring the nearby tourist spots. There are also a few outdoor tables if you’d like to sit and take in the surroundings.

  • Because it’s in a busy area, there’s no parking right in front, but you can find parking just five minutes away at the beautiful Paseo del Carmen Shopping Mall, which has plenty of surrounding parking. Park there, take a short walk, and get ready to experience a little slice of Paris in the heart of Playa del Carmen!

Final Thought:

Now, I have just one question for you: Are you ready to see photos of these delicious treats? Think it through! Take a deep breath… here you go: Café Antoinette Photos

Until next time! Or should I say… À bientôt!
